Women’s South Dorm Renovation
Summer 2010
The focus of this project was to provide a major exterior upgrade to the
building and make electrical, mechanical, and plumbing infrastructure interior
improvements. In addition, new low maintenance flooring, energy efficient
windows and an interior prep & repaint for specific areas of the dorm were
included.
This was a pre-qualified bid project with Trident Construction (www.tridentconstruction.com)
being selected as the general contractor.
Low Country Painting was awarded the interior & exterior painting subcontract.
Due to the aggressive delivery schedule, our team worked closely with the
project manager and site superintendent to coordinate work with other key trades
to accelerate key interior finish milestones while working in parallel on the
exterior phase of the project.
The overall project was not only completed on time and on budget but additional
work not in the original project scope was completed for the owner.
Based on the success of this project, CSU plans to upgrade Women’s North dorm in
2011.
