Low Country Painting, LLC - Commercial Project
Crafts House
67 Lagare Street
Historic Charleston
The Crafts House Property Owners Association (CHPOA) contracted with several
different trades for their exterior work. The overall project consisted of
the membrane roof replacement, window repair and replacement, wood and
stucco repairs, and a total repaint. All of the trades worked directly for
the CHPOA and their designated point of contact. The membrane roof
replacement was completed before the remaining activities were authorized.
Low Country Painting was selected for the exterior repaint activities. We
worked closely with the carpenter and stucco group who did all the repairs
and replacements. A team approach was taken with direct communication
between trades to ensure a quality job while the CHPO representative had the
final decision authority.
Low Country Painting removed all peeling paint from the doors and windows;
hand sanded them, replaced broken panes and glazing, and applied a full
prime and top coat. After completing the window/door phase, the rest of the
building was cleaned and repainted. The use of scaffolds and large lifts
allowed complete access to the building and provided a safe work environment
for all the trades.
Lord and Evans Paints’ Color Wheel products were used on this project. The
stucco body was painted using Flex lox. The wood received All Prime and
Optima Semi gloss. The metals were prep’d and finished with Aquatec H20
primer and Aquatec Satin. The wood decks received an Acryladeck coating.
The CHPOA is very pleased with the quality and results of the project. We
are too!
